Altoids Tin Survival Kit

Found via Digg.com, the survival kit (featured on FieldAndStream.com) is packed with necesities and looks like a great thing to have when roaming around in the woods and even the desert. Seeing as how I don’t eat fish (though I may be forced to do so if I were left alone in the woods for a while) and Arizona isn’t exactly the state with the most running water, I’m thinking the fishing gear could probably be left out in favor of more snare wire to create rabbit traps, but that’s just me thinking of ways to modify the kit for a special circumstance. The kit looks like a great start to being prepared when out in the wilderness doing any outside activities.

Hey Ya…

Check out this kick ass acoustic cover of the Outkast favorite “Hey ya” by an Arizona singer named Mat Weddle from the band Obadiah Parker.

Say Hello…

To My Little Friend…

Back in the saddle

Aaron and I have been biking a few times recently and it feels damn good to be back in the saddle riding again. We’ve been doing roughly 14 to 15 miles and will be adding more on each time we ride. Somehow, I got the crazy idea that I want to do the Tour de Tucson (a 111 mile ride around the perimeter of Tucson); yeah, I’m crazy, but training for it will get me in much better shape even if I don’t do the whole race. As we bike more and I get used to riding again, I’ll decide if I’m going to do all 111 or if I want to drop down to 60 or 80 mile rides.

One years old already!

Yesterday, our kittens Sophie and Miles turned one!! We adopted them when they were 9 weeks old, so we approximated the date a touch, but are prety sure it was one year ago yesterday the little scamps were born. They’ve been such a joy to have around and have, since day one, been the most affectionate and loving little guys I could have asked for.

In honor of their birthday, we, naturally, spoiled them rotten; Lauren let them have milk (Sophie tried it, but Miles didn’t even attempt to give it a shot), we bought them a jungle-gym thingy (pictures to come), two new bouncy toys since they destroyed both of the last ones, and moved them up to adult food (which they both liked without any issues, interestingly).

I’ll post some updated pictures soon (the batteries in my camera died, so I couldn’t take any pictures until they were charged up again).
