One years old already!

Yesterday, our kittens Sophie and Miles turned one!! We adopted them when they were 9 weeks old, so we approximated the date a touch, but are prety sure it was one year ago yesterday the little scamps were born. They’ve been such a joy to have around and have, since day one, been the most affectionate and loving little guys I could have asked for.

In honor of their birthday, we, naturally, spoiled them rotten; Lauren let them have milk (Sophie tried it, but Miles didn’t even attempt to give it a shot), we bought them a jungle-gym thingy (pictures to come), two new bouncy toys since they destroyed both of the last ones, and moved them up to adult food (which they both liked without any issues, interestingly).

I’ll post some updated pictures soon (the batteries in my camera died, so I couldn’t take any pictures until they were charged up again).

Back from NJ/MA/PA… it’s 106 out… and we got a fish tank

Lauren and I spent the last week and change running around the North East visiting the three states that we spent the vast majority of our lives calling home while seeing our families and friends.

We spent a few days traveling, three days in Massachusetts visiting the sights around Boston, a day in Pennsylvania visiting the Philadelphia and Bethlehem areas, and then another three days in New Jersey relaxing and taking a day to enjoy Six Flags Great Adventure.

Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Since Lauren and I are unable to get back East for the turkey day festivities and we were graciously invited to a few people’s places out here in Tucson, we are going over to one of my coworker’s places to celebrate and get our yearly turkey fix. I hope everyone has a Happy and save Holliday and the best of luck fending off all other shoppers in tomorrow’s Black Friday Armageddon.

Trip to San Diego

Lauren and I took an extended weekend trip out to San Diego to visit out friend (and my fraternity brother) Brandon last weekend. Neither of us had ever been there before, so it was a great opportunity for her to visit California for the first time as well as visit one of our friends.

Wine and Cheese Party

Tomorrow night, Lauren and I are going to a wine and cheese party thrown by some friends at my company and I have no clue what kind of cheese goes with each type of wine I have hidden away in my closet. After doing some quick searches on Google and weeding out all of the restaurants, I finally found a really well prepared website that helps people in the very predicament I’m currently in.

http://www.thewineman.com/winecheese.htm

From that site, it looks like bringing my bottle of Echelon Cabernet Sauvignon will go well with Brie, strong Cheddar, Camembert (whatever that is), and Danish Blue. I chose medium Cheddar to suit a wider range of people and because Lauren doesn’t like the strongest Cheddars… I’m thinking that it will work well enough to not be noticed.

I’d highly recommend checking that site out if you ever plan on going to or having your own wine and cheese party. I also found the following websites to be helpful as well: FoodNetwork Article and Global Gourmet Article
